A Different Kind of Day

A great deal of rearranging took place this morning.  M, B and I were due to meet our friends at Ely (a half-way point between our homes), but our friends live in an area of the country that had a great deal of snow yesterday, followed by below freezing over-night temperatures.  So, although it was just gloomy and cold here with not a snowflake in sight, we all agreed that we needed to postpone our much-awaited and much ‘looked forward to’ meeting for another day.  Happily, the restaurant we had booked for lunch were very understanding and we managed to re-arrange for next week.
This was following a family get-together arranged for yesterday which also got postponed for exactly the same reason.
So, rather disappointingly we found ourselves food shopping in Tesco instead, not half so appealing!  But we did cheer ourselves up with coffee and a salted caramel mille-feuille in The Sitting Room, our favourite café in Sheringham.
Oh…and while we were there I photographed the lampshades…as you do when you’re a ‘blipper’.
The extra is a detail from the cafe's Christmas tree, made of empty jam jars containing some pretty coloured lights.
