Almost there

A mono image today. Lucky to get one. This house has been derelict for many years. It’s almost ready be lived in. A similarly derelict property next door is also up for sale.

A sad day as we went to the funeral of our close friend Chris who died from cancer last month. The crematorium was packed with people standing everywhere, crowded into every available space.

It was a dismal day as well. Very cold with a driving wind, heavy rain which tried to turn to snow but couldn’t quite make manage it.

The service was very good, different and interesting like the man himself. There were no hymns and only the Lord’s Prayer at the end, which was unusual as Chris was a reader at his Village church.

The service was entirely tributes to Chris by a wide range of friends and family who between them captured the essence of the man and more. And it wasn’t just a goody, goody account either! Which people liked.

So in the end the service lifted the day. We enjoyed catching up with people at the wake, which seems to be a growing aspect of our lives as we get older.
