Exit stage left; rapidly

After finishing sweeping leaves and twigs from the deck, we were visited by C for lunch. A lovely relaxed time on the deck in the sun. After she left to return to Auckland, I decided to take a walk by the incoming tide. As I rounded the point from Southend to Our Beach, a kotare (kingfisher)flew from its perch on rocks, and settled in the branches of a tree high up the cliff face. Following one photo, the kotare left and I carried on. Stopped shortly afterwards to get some photos of a white-faced heron; one of which I have included as an extra for today
