Quod oculus meus videt

Pelsall Junction Sunrise

A first venture out with a new camera, I'd spent much of yesterday familiarising myself with its functions.

This was not expected.  I'd seen a clear patch in the clouds heading east, but the predominant colour of the sky was grey.  This kind of sky requires a touch of serendipity with a break in the clouds combining with the rising sun to provide the under lighting in this way.  As fleetingly as it appeared it had gone, replaced by drops of rain.  I scuttled back to the car as quickly as I could, dodging the slippier sections of the path, that were fairly lethal.  I had no wish to repeat my misfortunes of a couple of weeks ago, especially with the camera in hand.
