Not a day for walking.

There was heavy rain this morning. I was out briefly and got as far as the Queen’s Cross roundabout using the walls for balance. As I tried to navigate my way across the pavement I lost my balance on the ice. While I was struggling to resume an upright position, and grasping the railings for support, a motorist stopped and asked if I was alright.

That was enough walking for me today. I made it to the bus stop. When I got off the bus I was met by somebody with a car so I could get to my final destination across the ice field normally referred to as roads and pavements.

I returned home later in the day by car. The pavements remain a sheet of ice made more deadly by the rain and slightly warmer temperature today.
