Nostalgia

Bit of a rush after work to catch a bus to the other side of Berwick. Needed to pick up a parcel from one of the shops there that acts as a drop-off point for one of the courier firms. Cheaper than home delivery, and saved MrM having to wait in for the delivery.

Achieved very little this evening, apart from putting the mincemeat into jars and, er, watching the first of The League of Gentlemen Christmas Specials on TV. Outrageous, very scary - the stuff of nightmares and a little too close to reality for comfort - and hilarious. Compelling...

All of which means an end-of-the-day emergency Blip. When I was a child, my parents had some Father Christmas decorations for the tree. They were beautifully made, delicate glass baubles depicting, in great detail, an old-fashioned father Christmas with his long white beard and fur-edged red cloak. Last year, in a fit of nostalgia, I bought half a dozen of these tree decorations, supposedly Father Christmas. But they're not at all quite the same, if I'm honest...
