SecondSeason

It's beginning to look alot like...

 ...Christmas!

The dump of snow we received yesterday is deciding to stay as temperatures hover around freezing.  It looks like we'll be getting more snow so we may have a white Christmas!

Trying to plan my days out well to remain unhurried in a week that seems to push our panic buttons.  I think today was the first day I actually felt some excitement about upcoming festivities.  Not sure why there's a delay this year. We do have a few fun things planned so am looking forward to many mental snapshots of joyful moments shared as we celebrate this holiday season.

One of the things we do as a family on Christmas Eve day (from noon til around 3pm) is head out to a river site we like to go to and build a big fire.  The kids run around and explore and we drink glühwein to keep warm.  Over the fire we roast wieners to have hot dogs and marshmallows to make smores. Will try to take a family photo of our outing to show you.

Tomorrow is December 21st.   The first day of the winter season and the shortest day of the year.  Winter solstice.  Bring it on.
