Island life

When you live on an island, you have to get creative in getting your quad bike to the garage on the mainland to be fixed. I hadn't seen this mini-barge before. They are all standing there as if it is an everyday affair to be toodling over the channel with the tide rushing in. At least they have life jackets on.
It has been a lovely summers day with a sea breeze to keep the temperature down a couple of degrees.
As well as the barge and bike there was a kayaker, and a rubber dinghy who went to sea. Lots of fishermen on the fishing platform and NO CAMPERVANS. {This is for Blipmate in particular) See the extra to see why. Tasman District Council has finally passed a bylaw regulating freedom camping and they have got the signs out just in time as the place is heaving with campervans, caravans, vans with no facilities on board. There is also a limit of 3 hours on the parking spaces. Let's hope it is policed well.
