The Christmas Pavlova

Woke early as per usual, and after breakfast (during which I managed to solve the Paul crossword from Friday's Guardian) we began the preparation and cooking of our contribution to the family gathering at daughter C's home. I was the cook's assistant.

The pav had been cooked last evening, and the topping with decorations was done this morning. Much liked by all after a splendid feast. The only sadness was the now established absence of son and family (the Tsukens), who delay their visit into the New Year these days. They'll be with us in less than two weeks, and we can enjoy having them stay for two weeks.

For many of us the celebration of the Solstice, and the celebration of the birth of Christ, attain most of their meaning through the strengthening of family ties. Whatever your beliefs are, I wish everyone the same; good health, good relationships, and the opportunity to flourish in the way that you want.

To that end; Happy Christmas all.
