Market Scale #27

While I wasn't in the best position to capture this scale, I did manage to get the tuna in all its glory. That little box at the top of the frame is a scale from which the vendor has just unhooked the fish. I don't know how heavy it was. My fish vendor told me the largest tuna he ever filleted was 178 kg. This one obviously weighed less than that, but was still pretty large for our market. He tells me this size of fish normally would head to Mexico City, but everybody is at the beach for the holidays so we get to keep these monsters.

This entry keeps the series going, though I missed last month. It also marks the completion of my back blips from our time in Pátzcuaro. Wanted to make sure I caught up before the new year.
