Symbiosis

This tree stump has a problem with fungi. I have a problem with food.
Having made arrangements to have a meal with some of the family on New Year’s Day, His Lordship and I stocked up goodies this morning only to have a text later saying the meal was off as their arrangements had changed.
Grrrrrr! Now we have a surfeit of food although it might be good news for David and Luca who will be first in line to benefit from the excess.

His Lordship and I met up with the ex blipper Joppa Strand in town this morning. It’s been almost 6 months since we got the surprise of seeing him and Tiggy up in Stromness during our summer holiday, so there was much to talk about. Unfortunately we missed Tiggy today because she was feeling a bit poorly, but we hope to meet again once the Christmas madness is over.

We met in the RSA gallery café which has an uninterrupted view of what in my opinion is the tacky Christmas Market and Themeland in Princes Street Gardens. Edinburgh seems to be selling its soul in the bid to fill its coffers and pay off the tram debt, but not apparently to fill the potholes in the roads.
