No. 17 Wood Street

The next building in my, very occasional, series of Wood Street, Stratford upon Avon, subject of my onestreet project.

According to the 1891 census this property was occupied by Harriet Robbins who ran a baker and confectionary shop assisted by her two daughters, Henrietta and Mary,. Also in the property was her sister Ann Malins, who was an assistant housekeeper, and sister-in-law Sarah Robbins plus grandson, school boy William Wilson. To complete the household they had a servant living in-house, Rose Woodward.

This is also my submission to today's Mono Monday, hosted by Skeena which has a theme of Start. In times gone by betting shops were primarily for betting on horses after lifting the restriction of course only backing. The final odds at the beginning of the race are known as the Starting Price. To add to that, today is the Start of the new year and we Started 2018, not counting last night, with a drink at Nero!

To any who missed my message yesterday - Happy New Year
