Dereliction

After our emergency dash up to Darlington yesterday,    we waited almost four hours for an ambulance to attend Mrs madwill’s mother - by which time she had recovered from whatever had affected her. The ambulance crew could find nothing untoward and recommended that she didn't go to hospital. The poor ambulance crew had spent more time waiting in the loading bays of the hospitals to admit patients to A&E than they had spent answering calls. There was simply no beds available in the hospitals to take patients from A&E to make room for new emergencies.

As a precaution Mrs madwill stayed with her mother in case there was any relapse overnight. I had to come home as Finlay had been left on his own.

So a few minutes after midnight, having seen the new year in, I was in bed… Billy no mates.

This morning I gathered up the makings for a ‘Sunday lunch’ from our fridge and drove back up to Darlington, where I cooked the dinner.

We came home again late afternoon just as it was getting dark. I took Finlay out for a short walk around the village just to keep him quiet!

The photo is of the rear of an old building near where MIL lives - it is an eyesore that everyone wants gone, but it is listed building. Some parts have been demolished but the main building is left rotting. It was formerly a orphanage, a borstal and a nursing home (but not all at the same time). I have blipped it before . Tagged for January derelict challenge (just in case) and I have used a couple of my new supply of extras!

We will be supping our New Year ‘bubbles’ tonight as we missed out yesterday.
