First Light on a Silver Birch

Location: Pelsall North Common, Pelsall, Walsall

A beautiful if rather cold day, full of sunshine but with a keen wind.  I was out early to catch the first rays of light illuminating the branches of this silver birch on the common.

Then later in the day we popped in to see family and ended up walking around Sutton Park.  It was very pleasant to feel the heat of the sun on us when we stopped for a quick coffee.  Funnily the Exmoor ponies that were introduced to the park a few years ago had congregated in a temporary corral we assume had been erected  to carry out some checks on the herd.  Despite the gates being open they seemed to like the location (it was in the sun) and had decided to lay down for a while.
