Now, as I see it......

It's for YOU!!!

When I was a kid we had one of these, a classic GPO 300 series with a drawer at the front for telephone numbers. We were on a 'party line' which meant that we couldn't use the phone if the family over the road were already using it, although I was never quite sure how this worked as they didn't have the same phone number as us. We had to press the button above the dial to get a dialling tone when the handset was lifted, and of course in those days, if you wanted to make a long distance call, you had to call the operator to connect you.

A few years ago I bought this one; an original, but fully restored and converted to work on modern phone lines. It's great for making phone calls; not so good for sending texts!
