Enjoying a day off

We started the morning with our "Sunday poached eggs".  We didn't have them yesterday, as I was on a shift starting at 0900.  Then I pedalled the exercise bike for 30 mins, and hung up some clean washing to dry.

Then we went shopping.  We need a new clock for our sitting room - the current one is losing time, but we didn't find one that suited today.  But we did buy a brush for getting into the crevices of the brass pieces.  Followed by a trip to the supermarket, where we bought Hot Cross Buns, and I saw Easter eggs for sale - already!

Then home, coffee and Hot Cross Buns, before settling down to polish some of the brass.  W very kindly took this shot whilst I was working.  It's really difficult getting into the intricate details - and in fact, our feeling is that one shouldn't get too finickity, as the tarnish in the details adds definition and character.  Brass polishing is much more physical than silver polishing.  It seems there is no short cut to hard graft!
