If you can't beat them...

Helleborus niger

Not a good day.  The morning was taken up by the funeral of an old colleague.  In his day a constantly smiling lovely man, sadly in these later years hit by dementia.  As we headed back from the crematorium we nipped into the garden centre for lunch.

Not having much chance for blips this Christmas rose caught my eye.  The pure white of the petals and the rain drops seemed very appropriate for the day.  I almost posted the shot as a mono and decided against it.  The day wasn't all sadness there was the bright spot of meeting old colleagues even if under such sad circumstances.

So the blip is the Hellebore with the stigmas and stamens colour popped to represent the bright spots of the day.
