Life in Sunny Dubai

By GadgetKid

Gorgeous Day

A lot of blippers from around the world have been commenting on beautiful sunny days recently, and guess what - we've had them in Dubai too!! Despite what you think, they are actually quite rare as there is often either a lot of humidity in the air, or haze or dust or all three! Today was amazing, and as I was driving home from a coffee meeting late afternoon, I had to call past favourite beauty spot to see what the lighting was like there.

This is it... I have blipped this view before, but in the night. The main building in the middle is a bank and the Architects brief (way back in 1988) when designing it was that the building should reflect the Banks position on the Creek as well as Dubai's prominent position in the region. Canadian architect Norr produced this... one giant mirror. Very clever I thought.

The blue building on the right is the Chamber of Commerce.

For those of you wondering "where's the pink?" It is on the canopy of the abra (water taxi).

For two seconds, I would have liked to have driven to the beach to see the sunset but mundane tasks called, in this case, a shop. Day started with nearly two more hours of ironing!

Hope your week has been off to a good start!
