Paphileopedilum

Kanyl and I had an "away day".  We headed down to Beetham Nurseries for their "Orchid Weekend".  Burnham Nurseries (an orchid specialist) had come all the way from Newton Abbott in Devon, bringing with them a range of Orchids you don't normally see in the average garden centre.

As well as the range of Orchids Beetham Nurseries had their range, which turned out to be different from other garden centre.   There was a very informative one hour talk and a repotting service for those who wanted their orchids repotted.

I resisted the urge to buy yet more plants but found the talk fascinating and stocked up on orchid "sundries".   This shot is of a Paphileopedilum (Slipper Orchid) which Burnham Nurseries had on their stand.  A reminder to visit the Silverdale area later in the year to have another look at our native Lady's Slipper Orchids at Gait Barrow.
