Catkins

We have spluttered to mid January, not the best of starts to a new year. But ..........

Leaving J to keep warm, I had the briefest of forays around our local nature reserve. The hazel catkins are out, so have to be blipped. And I first heard and then saw willow tits. They are one of the UK's scarcer small birds, not seen in large parts, but this part of the country happens to be one of their strongholds. They like wet, scraggy and unkempt woodland.
