Making like a duck

This gorgeous heron made me laugh today.  S/he was sitting right down in the water like a floating duck, and every so often water was flicked over the back and shaken the way ducks do it.  I suppose herons must bathe, but it's not something I've ever seen before.  I felt privileged, especially as I was so close.  One step nearer and I'd have been sitting in the river too.

This afternoon I had a cuppa with my old gent, who was on pretty good form apart from the ongoing irritation of his not very good carers' agency.  The Maybot says she wants to reduce loneliness in old folks - the first step would be to see they get decent care!
