Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

At the Henry

Fiona Friday.   Picked her up from school and went by the Henry Gallery at the UW on our way home to see an exhibition of their “contemporary” works.   Of course a stop at their cafe (extra)    Altho she knew all about the Sims game depicted in one, (we didn’t have a clue)  she wondered why there was so much violence in many of the works.  Indeed, why?  All three of us liked this piece above all else.. Richard Long’s Puget Sound Driftwood Circle; pieces he collected while walking along the sound, and arranged differently like waves each time it is presented.  Yes, we thought  about Andy Goldsworthy.  Fiona is looking at me with her binoculars (and her sleep mask).

The other extra is Fiona’s idea for a photo… she says I could use it for an “anniversary blip”.. !  “Nanna & Boppa”  Not sure who this artist is but I think it’s not violent.

Home to color some Starwars designs and draw more 3 part figures… then I talked her into sitting on the couch quietly  (!!!) reading a book (me) . She can’t “just sit” but did some sewing with yarn and paper and then some iPad drawings while listening before we made pancakes for dinner.  We were, alas, almost out of Maple syrup so had to improvise with powdered sugar, lemon, strawberries or lingonberries, and whipped cream., (the Swedish way).   You need to be flexible, Boppa!

Did a very small amount of "cleaning out" today :-)  Thanks for all that encouragement yesterday...I'll report, but not daily don't worry.
