Black Hellebore

Apologies for the rushed photo. This is a bud from the black hellebore that I bought at Hodsock Priory in 2012. Although the plant has flowered each winter since then, I feel it is past its best. Unlike the white hellebore next door to it, the black one seems to be 'shy' and doesn't lift its head. Perhaps the environment in which both white and black are growing doesn't suit them. Wikimedia tells me that they like moist soil in dappled shade. Perhaps it gets too hot in the summer for them.

I finally got my tax return submitted this afternoon, but was mortified at the tax I had to pay. Did HMRC take account of my expenses? I wonder.
