Blackdog.

Dramatic skies over Blackdog beach this morning. M and I slept late, and while I lounged in bed with a magazine, M got up and made us a cooked breakfast with cafetiere coffee. Perfect fuel for a long, windy walk on the beach! The sea was really lumpy today and the wind was biting, but the sun must have been strong as it was warm despite it all. We mis-timed our walk with the tides and ended up quite high towards the dunes to avoid wet feet; with all the rain the river that feeds into the sea was so swollen we couldn't cross it either, so we had to cut the walk short. Still, it was just really nice to be outdoors, with the cobwebs definitely swept right away.

When we got home we got stuck into the un-boxing of the library at the house. All our 'everyday' items had been put away last week, but we had been left with 5 boxes of random paperwork, photos, outdoor equipment, DVDs, hairclips and skateboard wheels (!). We found homes for everything and I had a massive clearout of all my outdated paperwork (of which there was lots) until we had a massive pile of things to feed the fire with.

Later on, I absolutely cremated some chicken thighs for mine and M's dinner, but it went down well with a bottle of wine anyway! Another bath before bed to relax, ready for another week at work before our holiday next Saturday!
