Toooot Toot!........

......coming round the bend is the TranzAlpine Express Christchurch bound on this rather overcast eve. 

And on board are two very special travellers from the UK, our cousins C and J, what a thrill to welcome them to the mainland. Both mum and I were very excited, it was so nice to meet them, greet them, hug them and it was like we were 'old friends' even though I had not met them before.

Well......did we chat......we heard about their NZ adventures so far, we discussed our family ties in great lengths, we connected our family trees on Ancestry, we perused old photo's trying to put names to faces, we talked about where they were going next, time was short but we packed a lot in. Goodness, we did find time to eat and drink and this was only the first night - what a night!

We turned in late, C and J slept at mum's place and dined at our place, we all slept as rain fell.

In my extras: mum and I eagerly waiting on the platform, C and J on the train (this photo came via a text saying 'We ARE on the train', there was a little confusion for a wee while)
