Mighty no more

This oak, along with another that grew right beside it, fell down a couple of years ago.  The magnificent pair dominated the field where they grew.  It was very sad to see them with their roots exposed, one fallen to the left and one to the right.  The intricate branches are still magnificent.
We put on our rain gear and enjoyed a walk down to Burgoyne Bay.  We we're shocked to see that the trail by the beach had been flooded and lots of gravel carried down.  The water wasn't over the trail anymore, but we couldn't get down to the beach because a huge area has been flooded right down to the welcome poles that I've blipped before.  We're hoping that the poles won't be damaged. More heavy rain coming our way.
