Sunset over Bute

I've lost count of the number of sunsets I've taken photos of from the shores of Toward, in the south of the Cowal Peninsula, though I don't think I've posted many on Blipfoto before. Around the winter solstice, it sets rather more to the left of this view and about an hour earlier - this one was taken at about 4.45pm - and in the summer it would be off to the right and still blazing at 9pm.

But I love this view - my beloved Arran hills still dusted with snow away to the south beyond the island of Bute, the sea turning to melted gold, the dark foreground as the golden light that has bathed our road darkens, moves up the trees and away.  

Another day that felt like Spring ...
