Calm………………………….

……………………….before the Storm

This evening after dinner at a new Thai restaurant we wandered down to the Motueka Beach, NZ in the hope there were gaps in the cloud and we would see the moon rise above the horizon.

For the first time since 1866 a rare triple moon event was about to unfold - a Super Moon, a Blue Moon & a total Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon).

Instead, cloud covered much of the country as a storm was heading our way. While the clouds look threatening there wasn’t a breath of wind and the evening air was warm and balmy - definitely the calm before the storm!

This is Back Blip two of two.

A Super Moon is where a full moon coincides with the closest the moon gets to Earth during its orbit.
A Blue Moon is when two full moons occur in a calendar month
A Blood Moon is when the moon passes directly behind the Earth in its shadow
