A time for everything

Clouds over Pioneer Park

Continuing with our re-decorating work today. I spent some time stripping the old dark stain off the banister spindles - tedious work, and I could only take it for so long at a time before the fumes would really get to me. This afternoon I went for a short photo walk around the park before going to the supermarket to get a few things. Today's temperature wasnt much more than half of yesterdays, and although there were areas of blue sky between the clouds most of the day, there were often snowflakes floating around in the air.

This evening we were out for dinner with some people from church. We have this program called Dinners for 6,7 or 8 which meets once a month January through April. One month you volunteer to host and provide the main course, other months you go to someone elses home and take an appetizer, salad, vegetable or dessert. In general each month will be with a different group of people, so its a great way of getting to know some people who you may not otherwise meet. We've been in the church for over twelve years now, so we know a lot of people, but its a large church and people are always coming and going. This evening was fairly typical - we knew the hosts and one of the other couples, but one couple were totally new to us.
