a lifetime burning

Blue Bridge

Despite the weather forecast, the sky was clear as the sun went down this evening, so I took the opportunity to photograph "that bridge" again.  As you can see, I wasn't the only one.

This is Finzell's reach in Bristol.  It is an interesting stretch of the floating harbour.  Originally everything that is in front of you would have been part of the Courage Brewery.  For15 years or so it has gradually been redeveloped, although the 2007 crash caused the whole scheme to be mothballed.  Since then several developers have had a crack at the scheme and have gone bust in the process.  But finally local developer Cubex have managed it, delivering the wonderful curling footbridge in the process.

I was tempted to hang on for another half an hour or so, to wait for the sky to become a darker blue, so that the artificial lighting becomes more interesting.  But it was blimmin cold and I rather liked the empty bridge with this serendipitous photographer in the foreground.  Perhaps I'll get that other shot next time :-)
