Moss

Just a quick blip of the moss around the base of a dwarf acer. Moss is one of the most colourful things in the garden at the moment, and seems to be growing strongly in spite of the cold. I guess it enjoys the wet. The acer is quite old now, over 20 years I think, and the trunk is becoming quite twisty and gnarled. It's probably a little too big now to grow as a bonsai, but it does have that sort of look about it. We had to prune out some dead wood a year or two ago, and it has left it lopsided. Maybe taking a bonsai approach wouldn't be such a bad idea.
