Today's challenge

Should I choose to accept it, was to get an image of a blue banded bee in flight, front on.  OK, so I'm a bit high, but ........

This is quite an old bee - she's gone bald on the top of her thorax - the result of belting in and out of her burrow to feed the offspring, and belting in and out of flowers all summer long.  It does wear down the hair a bit, you know.

Still plenty of them around - a bit later in the afternoon there will be more: there were four there yesterday.  I've never seen so many in previous years.  In fact last year there was barely one.
