Life in Sunny Dubai

Decadence alert!

An early start today as we had to drop G's car off at the garage to have a couple of things fixed and also to pick up two ladies whom G met at the AWANA conference and fun day she's attended the last two Saturdays. G offered to show them a bit of Dubai, so that's exactly what we did!

We started with the flamingos in Ras Al Khor as we were close to feeding time. Then over to Deira and the Spice and Gold souks. My blip is of *some* of the crazy and unique things that caught my eye today.  There are a lot of new designs out there and I have to say that posting pictures here doesn't mean that I like them, but just that they are different!

On to the other side of the Creek and we only had time to drive along the newly re-constructed Al Seef before heading to Wafi for lunch. That over, we had a quick peek in Khan Murjan before heading over to Motor City to drop Bev and Jane. They went on to a desert safari! We went back to pick up the Peugeot.

There was enough time for a cup of tea before we headed out again to meet up with friend Diane and her brother Trevor! Great to catch up with them but sadly Yahala's food isn't what it used to be, so not sure if we will be going back there again soon. It was heartening then to see that a Lebanese Street Food place has opened up less than 100 metres away from the flat! Woohoo!

My extra should be self-explanatory. I was told it is made of innumerable rough diamonds!
