There we were, a group of photographers visitng the amazing Beng Mealea temple, and we all pointed our lenses at a poor lizard calmly sitting on a rock.
I think the other visitors to the site and the staff there all thought we were a little mad!
We were virtually the first people at the site after it opened, and it was amazingly peaceful and quiet, with just the sound of birds to keep us company as we wandered around with our cameras. By the time we left a couple of hours later, the car park was full and the site was heaving with visitors - the atmosphere totally ruined.
It was well worth getting up early to enjoy that initial peace.
