Meadow mooch

A wintry walk to Grantchester, just outside Cambridge, during which the company was favourable but the temperatures were not. As a distraction from frozen fingers we indulged in one of Louise's favourite pastimes: taking photos with those ridiculous filters on Snapchat. It was actually hilarious fun.

The weekend continued with sumptuous meals and the visit of other friends, Jenny and Justin, who also lived in Cambodia when we all did. Most of the group feels that the relatively care-free lifestyle of travel and socialising is something they couldn't go back to, as they've moved on in some way. I feel very differently, as life was great fun there. Professionally in the conservation sector it was very tough to remain inspired. That would be the main barrier to returning.

Because pretty much all of my friends are more accomplished in the kitchen than me, today I have learnt how to blanch green beans, make lemon couscous and prepare pumpkin seeds for re-planting (very messy).
