Early spring

The sun is gradually driving the change from winter to spring, although no doubt it'll be a while yet before warmer weather gets properly established. For now the early spring (or perhaps late winter) flowers are showing off whenever they can. It's mostly snowdrops and crocuses, although the Daphne odora is smothered in blossom now, and the hellebores look as if they're going to be very good too. The primroses are a bit shy as yet, but it won't be for long. 

For some reason this winter has been difficult to endure. I seem to feel the cold more as I get older, and find the low light levels a real challenge nowadays. More layers, and invest in a more powerful daylight lamp I suppose...
