Windowsill blooms

When I cleaned out all the shoots from the overgrown bromeliad pot, I kept these two as they were the only ones that I could see a red shoot coming from the middle.   New soil, some fertilizer, a sunny window ledge and now they are growing!

Makes me smile every time I look at them!!
