Calm after the storm

Woke up after a very interrupted nights sleep, amountig to not much more than four hours to blue skies, flat seas, no wind and sunshine :-)

We rallied and made it down for breakfast before 9am. Our friends were already seated. We enjoyed a nice breakfast before getting out for a walk to blow away the cobwebs. We always find staying in hotels too warm and stuffy. Im sure this is partly responbile for us not sleeping well........we had to open a window around 3.30 to let some air in, despite it blowing a hooley!

The four of us enjoyed a good walk up the pier, then along the front for a mile or so, before hubs knee, giving him some stick, dictated that we turned and headed back to the hotel. Todays blip is an old wreck of a row boat that sits on the front just above the sand...you can just make out Ulvestone across the bay. I have added a couple of extras, one of the hotel and another of the cormorants alongside the pier.

After checking out and saying our goodbyes we decided to head towards Carnforth and call in Booths for one or two things. We drove back via the M6 in lovely sunny conditions....a much quicker journey than on our way up.

All unpacked now, a light dinner this evening.
Some lovely cheeses, tomatoes and roast ham with crusty bread all washed down with a bottle of red, perfect :-)

Not sure we will last the distance this evening....hope to watch Graham Norton, we shall see ;-)
