Arthur's Seat

An excellent day out in Edinburgh with friends on Saturday.

We met at Waverley Station around lunchtime and took a bus out to the start of the Hermitage of Braid walkway. After a spot of lunch, we followed the path along the Braid Burn before walking up Blackford Hill, where these pictures (and quite a few others!) were taken. Later in the afternoon we took another bus to The Meadows, where we had another coffee stop and then a further bus journey brought us back into the city centre.

From there we walked up Calton Hill to watch the sunset - and rather splendid it was, too - before walking to my friends' house for dinner. A late train and a taxi home - safe to say I slept well that night!
