Five look out to Sea ......

..... although I think one has spotted me.

On our trips down to the south coast over the last 20 years, we have come to know Hengitsbury Head rather well. It and it's surroundings are always worth exploring.

Amazingly, for my sister in law and brother in law, this was their first trip - they had caught the ferry over from Mudeford for a coffee at the café, but never ventured onto the Head, or seen the very fine reed beds and meadows that lie between it and Christchurch. Always fascinating how we all like doing different things.

The extra is three of us (and one beagle) walking towards Mudeford Spit (a spoonbill in the lagoon was a highlight for me). The main blip is of a rather fine cloudy sunset, which a group of youngsters were admiring. Those were the days !
