Late lunch

I saw some blue sky today, but it lasted just a few moments before the cloud again dashed my hopes of a sun-and-shadow blip and brought on this shot of the tagine I made with the last of the leftover lamb from the meswhi at our party in the summer, with lucques olives and pickled lemons for a late lunch.

We had a lovely evening last night and an excellent meal at Le Petit Péché, including (sorry, vegetarians) home made foie gras and the best fillet of beef I've eaten for a long time. We'd eaten there with the family after my exhibition opening and were very pleased to find it just as good as it was then. Interesting conversations with F & S, B & M-J, about subjects ranging from food, wine (of course, among viticulteurs), unfair wealth distribution in society, the advisability of building artificial cities in the sand, regional identity in the Basque country and here, and much else in between, and some very good local wines before B & M-J invited us all back to their house to taste their fruits preserved in alcohol. Their own apricots, plums, grapes and cherries all tasted wonderful. But consequently (I think it was the alcohol x 4!) a slow start this morning.
