WE’RE ON OUR WAY!

After an early night I woke about three times before finally beating the alarm and waking at 4.50 am.

Our chauffeur arrived a few minutes early so we were soon on our way. Whilst chatting to him, as you do, he asked if I knew a lady named Shirley, his wife’s Aunt, who died several years ago but had lived in the next street.  You won’t believe it - or perhaps you will - but Shirley and her husband, Pete, went to our church, were our very good friends and he and Mr. HCB played many games of crib together while Shirley and I chatted.  What a small world!

Before long - well another 12+ hours - it will get even smaller when we arrive in Vietnam.

Thought you would appreciate seeing Mr. HCB about to tuck into his breakfast of bubble and squeak, bacon, eggs and toast - probably our last English meal for a while.

So - we are almost up, up and away - I did ask about an upgrade but it was silly money but at least we will be sitting next to each other!  Thank you for all your kind comments and good wishes - next stop HCM - we will enjoy the adventure!
