Still Raining

The impact of overnight rain was still in evidence in the garden this morning.  Iris 'Sheila Ann Germany,' an old hybrid between blue Iris histrioides and yellow Iris winowgradowii is unphased by the cold, wet weather.  Slightly larger flowered than the more commonly grown reticulata irises, this one is well worth seeking out.  It's parentage means it is more tolerant of the wet end of UK weather and more tolerant of cooler somewhat shady sites.

We have journeyed to London now, to stay a couple of nights with my mum.  Jamie and I both have appointments to keep tomorrow, by lucky chance they came up on the same day :-)
