Many Lums o Sandlodge

Although it's been a fine day of sunny spells and clouds, there's been a cold breeze.  

I was working on the museum desk this morning, and then up in the office for the afternoon.  A steady day of visitors, and scanning old Clement Williamson collection later.  Me and Sammy have been out for a walk, and also a beach clean too.  I also see others been cleaning around Scalloway :)  Sad news came in tonight, my friend Kaz passed away.  She was in an accident and got run over a few weeks ago, sadly she's not made it.  Mam popped by for a cuppa this evening. 

With the fine day, I enjoyed a chilly walk out in the fresh air.  Another day and another Laird house.  Parts of this builing date back to the 1600s, and was occupied for years by the Bruce's of Sumburgh.  Many add-ons over the years, the house is looking great for it's age, but sadly the grounds seemed to be neglected.  This is probably most of the lum cans, but I've missed a few.  Back in it's glory days, I wonder how much peat was needed to heat such a home?  This is the back of the house, most don't tend to see or photograph.  Sandlodge house, Leebittin, Sandwick.
