An Unkindness of Ravens

By Nevermore

Birthday girl

Today is my daughter's 9th birthday, though because of after school activities (flute & skating) we will be celebrating tomorrow.

Here she is cuddling a blue tongue lizard in the garden. This one lives behind the irises next to the laundry door and now that the weather is slowly warming up it can often be seen sunning itself by the door (they hibernate over winter). We have at least two or three other blue tongues living in the garden, each in its own spot (one in a drainpipe, another under a pile of old roof tiles). It always surprised (and gladdened) me that our dear departed cats never showed any interest in them.

Another time I'll try and get a better shot of the blue tongue lizard by itself.
