Snowmageddon Pt3

This morning’s exciting discovery was that the pipe to the kitchen tap, aka the main water supply to the house, is frozen. Fortunately most of the children in the house never flush anyway, the teens who like to linger in the shower were still in bed and the header tank in the loft is keeping the heating going (I assume).

Next door appeared mid morning having raided their recycling to bring us as much water as they could carry to keep us going!

After a couple of hours of work trying to unravel one of our trickiest client’s bookkeeping, I’d had enough. I forced the children to dress, raided the loft for the sledge I bought approx 11 years ago in Banbury and we set off to get essentials!

As we left it started snowing, slowly getting heavier. By the time we returned 2 hours later the sledge marks left by the children going down some of the long drives off our road were gone! While out I saw my first ever snow plough in Cornwall and made the kids pose on the Prince of Wales Pier.

Anyway, we now have bread, milk, toilet paper, all 3 Thor films and movie snacks and pizzas for tea to minimise washing up! The snow has stopped falling (for now) and we’re all toasty in front of the fire watching movies as another snow day has been declared for tomorrow.
