Common Enchantments

Pink Carpet

The hubby and I went out for lunch at a new location for us, The Red Shed, which was exactly that..a red wood sided building that appeared to be a single shed that had been added on to over the years.   However, as we know looks can be deceiving when it comes to places that serve good food, it definitely did not live up to the shed part.   They had an old counter from somewhere where three gents of grand old age were having lunch and then the dining room had maybe six tables and a long picnic table with benches.   We were able to grab the last little table with two chairs.   On the wall was old memorabilia that I think was real and not mass produced stuff that one can buy online for nostalgic purposes.   A poster next to our table was a flyer for George Jones and Tammy Wynette in concert in the 1970's.    And yes, the food was excellent..good old southern food, pot roast for me with peas and mashed potatoes, Jerry had his favorite, fried chicken with rice and gravy and collard greens.   And CAKE..mile high homemade fresh strawberry cake.   No supper for me.   I love it when we find places that serve food that is good and not costly...and filling so we don't usually eat anything for supper.

On the way home we drove through the peach growing area of South Carolina..miles and miles of field with peach trees.  This photo was taken out the car window as we came over a bridge and the peach trees were below us.  It looked like a pink carpet.  Imagine being in the upstairs of a house and looking out on the fields with all that pink in front of you.     Glorious..it was cloudy and gray so the color was not as bright as if the sun was shining.    And of course, we could not slow down with cars behind us.    Another shot in the extras.

We had our March lion weather this afternoon, major wind gusts and heavy rain.   Now it is still and quiet out.  Hoping the sun comes out tomorrow to start drying out the bog in my yard.  I would really like to see the full moon too but I don't think that will happen with the clouds.
