“Spring” Flower Friday!

Continuous snow overnight and all day today has left the early Spring flowers buried in mini snowdrifts around the garden. Earlier the Tête-à-Têtes and Crocuses were bravely battling the elements but they too have now disappeared from sight (see extras, including a rare selfie by Nanook of the North!)

It actually felt warmer today, or should I say less cold, with a temperature of -3℃, but thankfully far less windchill. I’d originally hoped to be heading east this weekend, but having seen the long term forecast last weekend, I gave up on those plans. Just as well as, thanks to Storm Emma, there were no buses today, no trains, and no planes! Local schools have been closed for the last two days and no postal service, rather frustrating as I’d struggled to get to the post office yesterday, and paid a fortune for guaranteed next day delivery of my passport. Needless to say it hasn’t arrived at its destination! Not to worry, we’re safe and warm and cosy, and that’s far more important...
