Pick Up Joint

This female Costa's hummingbird and her friend, Verdin, are having some personal time at The Nectar Bar.  Verdin arrived first, probably to avoid Zippy's suspicion and was able to get in a few drinks before she arrived.  He hoped that he was about to do the right thing. When she landed he broke things off and took to flight.  Obviously upset, she stayed to drown her sorrows with several nectar martinis.

In the end it was Anna's family that could not accept the transgender Verdin and had threatened to cut her off.  Verdin didn't want that for her so he stepped up.  So sad that such intolerance broke up a budding romance.  Maybe someday....
