Frozen Canal

Today has been much milder and the snow and ice are thawing. This afternoon we went for a walk along the Montgomery Canal at Carreghofa and the canal was mostly frozen over with patches of snow on the towpath. There were some primroses showing their heads through the snow - they must be very hardy.

The photo is looking under the bridge. You might notice the large icicles hanging from the lock gates and the ice on the canal. It's navigable so it wasn't stopping the boats travelling.
